ISLAMABAD: The Faizabad Dharna Commission has received a response from Lieutenant General Retired Faiz Hameed. Sources claim that former DGISI Faiz Hameed responded to the commission’s inquiries.
The sources claim that in response, Faiz Hameed stated that, as per the directives of the previous government, he had bargained with Tehreek Labeek Pakistan during the 2017 sit-in.

According to sources, Faiz Hameed said in his reply that in 2017, a cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, in which Intelligence chief Naveed Mukhtar and the military leadership also participated. had discussed the joint directives with TLP. Reportedly, Faiz Hameed refuted the accusations of plotting against the government.
It should be noted that Faizabad Dharna Commission is working under the leadership of Khushal Khan, former Inspector General Tahir Alam, and Akhtar Ali Shah are also in attendance before the commission.

TLP Dharna
It may be noted that on November 15, during the hearing of the review petitions against the decision of the Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) sit-in in Faizabad in Faizabad on November 15, the federal government had told the apex court that the investigation into the matter The government has formed a commission for this.
The commission formed by the government includes Additional Secretary Home, two retired former IGs Tahir Alam Khan and Akhtar Shah.
The Commission has been tasked to inquire into the illegal financial or other support provided to the TLP for the Faizabad sit-in and its aftermath.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa
In the Faizabad dharna case, the commission of inquiry had also summoned Pakistan Muslim League (N) president and former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif, but he did not appear.
During the November 15 hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa had remarked that the inquiry commission formed by the government can also invite the former prime minister, army chief and chief justice to investigate.
The Chief Justice had said during the hearing that no one is exempted, everyone can be summoned by the commission.
Faizabad Dharna
As a result of this sit-in, the life system in the federal capital was affected, while after the operation, protests and demonstrations started in different cities of the country in support of the religious party and the people faced severe difficulties.
On 27 November 2017, the government accepted all the demands of the Islamabad sit-in participants, including the resignation of Law Minister Zahid Hamid, including the release of activists arrested during the operation.
Later, the Supreme Court took notice of the issue of Faizabad sit-in when it was discussed during the hearing of a case and asked for a response from the concerned institutions.
